Surface Reactivity of Quick Alkali Mediated Bivalent Metal Ions (Zn-Mg-Sr) Doped Bioactive Glass
نویسنده
چکیده
AbstractBioactive glass with frame of SiO2-CaO-P2O5-ZnO-MgO-SrO was prepared using quick alkali mediated sol-gel process. The functional group analysis, morphology, composition and phase analysis of this glass were done by using FTIR, FESEM, EDX and XRD respectively. The bioactive nature of the sample was analyzed by immersion in Phosphate Buffer Saline (PBS) for a period of 7 days and characterized using FESEM and EDX. The surface reactivity results revealed a change in morphology. This could be attributed to the stimulating effect of the dopants in the faster mineralization and producing bone like morphology. Keywordsbioactive glass; therapeutic; PBS.

Remote Control Effect of Li+, Na+, K+ Ions on the Super Energy Transfer Process in ZnMoO4:Eu3+, Bi3+ Phosphors
Luminescent properties are affected by lattice environment of luminescence centers. The lattice environment of emission centers can be effectively changed due to the diversity of lattice environment in multiple site structure. But how precisely control the doped ions enter into different sites is still very difficult. Here we proposed an example to demonstrate how to control the doped ions into...
متن کاملGrowth of Novel Ceramic Layers on Metals via Chemical and Heat Treatments for Inducing Various Biological Functions
The present authors' systematic studies on growth of novel ceramic layers on Ti metal and its alloys by chemical and heat treatments for inducing bone-bonding bioactivity and some other biological functions are reviewed. Ti metal formed an apatite on its surface in a simulated body fluid, when heat-treated after exposure to strong acid solutions to form rutile surface layer, or to strong alkali...

In this research work, the original 45S5 bioactive glass was modified by introducing zinc and/or strontium oxide (6 mol%) in place of calcium oxide. Sr was added for its ability to stimulate bone formation and Zn for its role in bone metabolism, antibacterial properties, and anti-inflammatory effect. The glasses were produced by means of melting and quenching process. SEM and XRD analyses evide...
متن کاملEffect of single additive bivalent metal ions on the growth of Streptomyces clavuligerus and clavulanic acid production
Metal ions are the main impurities of water and media ingredients used in fermentation processes. In this research, the effect of Ca+2, Co+2, Cu+2, Fe+2, Mg+2, Mn+2 and Zn+2 as chloride and sulfate salts was studied on the clavulanic acid production and Streptomyces clavuligerus growth. All chloride salts had negative effect on clavulanic acid production and no clavulanic acid was produced in t...
متن کاملThe permeability of endplate channels to monovalent and divalent metal cations
The relative permeability of endplate channels to monovalent and divalent metal ions was determined from reversal potentials. Thallium is the most permeant ion with a permeability ratio relative to Na+ of 2.5. The selectivity among alkali metals is weak with a sequence, Cs+ greater than Rb+ greater than K+ greater than Na+ greater than Li+, and permeability ratios of 1.4, 1.3, 1.1, 1.0, and 0.9...
